New Barossa Valley Wine Company The Residence wines awarded 94 points

Brand News | September 2021

Barossa Valley Wine Company (BVWC) has been awarded 94 points for its two newest releases in the Winestate Magazine’s emerging varietals tasting results.

  • 2020 The Residence Montepulciano – 94 Points
  • 2020 The Residence Tempranillo – 94 Points

The wines were tasted blind and judged by the expert wine tasting panel in their appropriate varietal or style categories. Each judge assigns a scored independently, before comparing scores. Tasting an average of 10,000 wines per year, the scores are compiled using 100-Point System. The results are not easily achieved so if a wine does get awarded a higher score it must have earned that in the eyes (or palate of) the tasting panel.

BVWC Brand Manager, Lucy Jones says, “We’re overjoyed that our two newest releases have scored 94 points each. It’s a fantastic result that is a testament to our superb winemaking and viticulture teams, and shows our portfolio continues to deliver on quality as we look to expand into these non-traditional Barossa varietals.”
